I know I should feign disinterest, but I do think there is a background growing grumble of excitement in the UK! They’re IN London, which is cool considering the last time they were in the UK was in 1948. It probably is a once in a lifetime event to happen for most people my age living here.
I’m not sporty AT ALL, but the sheer professionalism, and determination that is shown by these professional athletes just astounds me. They are on another level. As someone who likes to be vaguely successful in the very limited things I do, I can understand their feelings in a fashion - and it’s inspiring. They genuinely are just amazing at what they do - and anyone like that should be admired.
Plus it’s awesome to watch. And the Jamaican track team (and Usain Bolt!) were based at my Uni’s campus (Birmingham, that is) for the past 2 weeks - which is also pretty awesome.
